I couldn't decide which one to post...
the pose that her mom wanted her to do,

or the real her

Sept 16th Day 257

This is a fabric playhouse we made out of an old sheet.  The idea came from the Sept. Family Fun.  Norah and Sam fit in it perfectly...Anna wants to turn it into a vet centre for all their stuffies.

Sept 15 Day 256

So, Anna and I have been having fun with our new camera, fun!!!

Sept 14th Day 255

One thing I love about Nova Scotia is all the amazing antique stores!  Lisa, check out the camera!!  I also found all these awesome antique books by Alexandre Dumas (can you read the titles?)  So great...

sept 13th day 254

I sent Sam out to pick some lettuce for supper tonight, I taught him how to do it etc.
He picked 3/4 of the row, and cut most of it off at the roots...oh thank goodness we don't have to live off the garden for the winter!  He was SO proud walking back to the house with his fresh picked lettuce!

Sept 12 Day 253

Today was such a wonderful Sunday in our home!  We had Bill and Bev, our sweet neighbours over for an afternoon concert.  Sam answered the door in his little white shirt and tie, and offered them truffles and watermelon.  All the kids played 2 songs for them on the piano or violin and then we visited afterward.  I loved seeing the children's smiles as we all clapped for them and how Bev lavished them with kisses and hugs.  They are such sweet people!  After the concert Kimball and I went out to play some badminton.  This is him flying like the birdie...

Sept 11 Day 252

Grade 4 homework has begun...look at my little student...she called Uncle Ed on the phone to ask what jungle life was like because she has to write a paragraph on what it would be like to live in the jungle.  Beating your clothes with rocks at the river to wash them is something I had not considered...

September 10th Day 251

STRATEGO!! Is still the biggest game in our house!!  It is chess/capture the flag...it is seriously so fun!! We have a hard time beating Kimball, and now even Sam is really good at creating good strategies!

September 9th Day 250

I am trying to decorate this wall in our dining room....what do you think?  To keep or not to keep...  I am calling this sculpture the Tree of Life because that's what it reminds me of...

September 8th Day 249

Anna has such a compassionate heart.  This poor dog only has 3 legs and there she is just loving him!  This was taken at Dempsey's corner.

September 7th Day 248

Today is Tuesday.  I really love decorating for autumn and I love having a seasonal wreath on my door!!  Some girls have a thing for shoes, I have a thing for wreaths on my brown door and pillows on my new window seat...
anyway, I am ecstatic about this wreath because I actually made it!! yay!!  I made a wreath that actually looks good!!  That's never happened before!  Here's what it looks like:

Happy Autumn!

September 6th Day 247

Whew!  Hurricane Earl put us out of electricity and water for most of the day on Saturday but it turned out to be less of a storm for this side of the province than was anticipated.
Today we went and played Laser Tag with some friends...so fun!!  Unfortunately I didn't bring my camera so this was a shot taken a few days ago...  this is at low tide at Hall's harbour....

September 5th Day 246

This is very serious business.  R2D2 is waiting at the ship while ObiWan and Anakin duke it out.  They are memorizing a battle sequence for a special show that Stephan is going to film.  They work on it every day now.  Anna is R2...can you see her? Norah is Princess Leia.

September 4th Day 245

Before....

After....

Special thanks to the dynamic duo, Trevor and Michaela...we love our new window seat!  I can't wait to nap on it, play games with the kids, read books, ponder life in general...all on the window seat...

Sept. 3rd Day 244

First day of school!  Sam grade one, Kimball grade 3, Anna grade 4!!

September 2nd (Happy 50th Birthday Mom!!) Day 243

We went to Halls Harbour today and swam in the ocean, and ate seafood by the sea...it had a very Nova Scotian feel to it, a lovely day was had by all.

September 1st (really?) Day 242

Inspired by the Fancy Nancy books we all dressed up and went to Cora's for breakfast...a few little surprises were in store for us...1. There was a lineup of about 50 people outside Cora's 2. It was customer appreciation day and so breakfast was free, yes, we all ate free...is that awesome or what??  The down side was waiting for so long, but the girls were troopers and we played games while we waited for our food.  I chickened out last minute and stuffed my purple boa in my purse.

I was so excited to show Michaela and her girls "Cora's"  Ever since Lisa introduced me to it in Winnipeg I've been hooked, best crepes ever!!  I love that Norah was fancy too!  Five seconds into eating her dish she says, holding up her plate to me, "Let's switch!" So we did.  It was a fabulous morning!!

August 31st Day 241

We went to the duck pond and obstacle course today...look at all of them doing chinups...

August 30th Day 240

It was Delaney's 9th birthday yesterday...We made cute little cupcakes and did the can can as we sang happy birthday to her in Primary yesterday.  Isn't she cute?!!

Day 239 August 29

Today we went out to Port George to check out the caves and show the Popke's where Kimball go baptized.  On the way back Anna and I supported each other (literally) my flip flop flopped and I was left with one shoe, and Anna had a challenge which would be embarassing for her if I made it known, let's just say that I was laughing inside when she looked at me as we were hobbling back, and said, "Mom, I think this is a trial."  She's so serious when she says things like that and I try not to laugh out loud but it's so adorable!
Oh, and word from the wise, stay off the slippery green rocks, you will slip.  and fall.

August 28th Day 238

The Popke's arrived today!!  They will be staying for a week and it's a dream come true!!  Eleven people at our table...As part of our fare this evening Trevor made scallops wrapped in bacon with garlic butter over it...so delectable!!

August 27th Day 237

this was taken yesterday, but it had to get on here somehow...
look at the flight to which both brothers achieve, look at the faces so, so, I'll get back to you on that one...

August 26th Day 236

It has been so wonderful to have Oma and Opa here!  We took a lot of photos today so I may have to post more than one...

August 25th Day 235

Anna and Oma sewing nightgowns together...

Anna has worn the same flannel nightgown that Oma made her since she was 3years old and it finally bit the dust.  So, off to the fabric shop they went and together they made 2 new ones that will fit her probably until she's 14!!!

August 24th Day 234

Uncle Ed and Miss Norah playing in the new sandbox...

August 23rd Day 233
