August 22 Day 232

We had the sisters over for dinner tonight and afterwards we played a game called What's Yours like?  taught to us by Oma.  It was so fun!!  You send someone out, pick a word, (like house)  and then call the person back in.  The it person asks each person in the circle, "What's yours like?"  and they each answer without trying to give away the word. (ie, if the word was house, people would say things like, big, colorful, full, comfortable,etc...)
the person who is it then tries to guess the word.  Really fun.  The sisters are so great!

August 21st Day 231

We packed up and headed to Charlottetown today.  We had a tour of Cows creamery, if you haven't tried the ice cream DO IT!! it is quite simply the best.  There is one in Banff and a few other places too...now, their tee shirts are hilarious!  Everything has to do with cows....the Jonas Brudders, Hannah Mootana, Elmoo, Team Jacowb, Oscow the Grouch, Super Moorio Brothers, Got Milked?  Oh my goodness they are so funny!
(picture coming soon)

August 20th Day 230

Anna is very excited to be at the beach.  We spent the whole day playing frisbee, making sandcastles, eating sandwiches (with sand in them)

August 19th Day 229

We went to the seaside today, at North Rustico about 10 minute drive from Cavendish.  We saw lobster, crab, jellyfish, a lighthouse, and we all wore our Wolfs Campout 2010 shirts that Oma brought for us!!

AUgust 18th Day 228

Oh how I could get lost in the world of Anne!! Special thanks goes out to my old roommate and dear friend Alison who introduced it to me in the first place!  We went to Avonlea today and wow!!  What an eventful day they have planned there!  It was too hard to pick just one photo so enjoy!  Don't they look cute all dressed up in Avonlea!

August 17th Day 227

This update is for you Marika!!
Alright, so we drove 4 hours to get to the beautiful KOA Cavendish campground in PEI!!  Stephan and Oma stopped at a fisherman's shanty and bought all the seafood we could handle!!  Some highlights of the dinner were:
1. telling Kimball and Sam not to look at their food so they could eat it
2. comforting Anna as she cried her eyes out for these poor lobsters who "don't get to live just because they're smaller than us, it's not fair, we get to live just cause we're bigger"
(needless to say she did not have any lobster...)
3. watching Ed POUND back the mussels!
4. watching Ed and Oma have a friendly disagreement about whether the lobster was actually cooked or not
5. watching Ed recook his raw lobster
ps Ed had a few marshmallows at the campfire a few hours later, and in the night Oma nursed him back to health because he was mysteriously ill...

August 16th Day 226

This photo was taken yesterday at Kimball's baptism.  Eddy called it the 'MJ'

August 15th Day 225

Today our little Kimball was baptized.  It was so peaceful and wonderful to see my boy be led down into the water by his dad.  When Stephan raised his arm to the square and said the baptismal prayer it was so powerful, a moment I will never forget.  Kimball bowed his head, and then after the prayer, plugged his nose and went under the water.  He came out with a big smile on his face, and I wrapped him in a cozy white towel.  I asked him how he felt, and he said, "really good!"  I put my foot in the water just to see how cold it was and it was freezing!  I am so grateful this was such a special day for him.  He knows the reasons for getting baptized and wants to do his best to follow the Savior.  Oma gave a lovely talk on baptism, Uncle Eddy gave a wonderful talk on the Holy Ghost, Anna and Opa played the closing song "Baptism" on violin and guitar, and then we ate sandwiches and squares.  A few families from our branch were there as well, and we were so grateful for their support.

This one was taken moments before Stephan baptized him.

August 13th Day 223

Happy Birthday Jordan!!  Today Oma and Opa and Uncle Eddy came...how wonderful to see them!!

August 14th Day 224

We went to Dempsey's Corner again to pick peaches this time...this is a photo of some of the gang on the merry go round...

and this is us picking peaches!!

August 12th Day 222

These are rocks from the Bay of Fundy at the site that Kimball will be baptized on Sunday.

August 11th Day 221

This was a wonderful moment that I wanted to capture of my girls hanging the wash...how fun that they love to do this!!

August 10th Day 220

This is an idea that I got from Lisa's visiting teacher...the poem was so cute and I wanted to spread the joy here in Kingston!

AUgust 9th Day 219

I finally got to hang up the pictures and shelf today in th eliving room.  This is what it looks like in the evening when all is still...and clean.

August 8th Day 218

This is what it looks like at our house 10 minutes before we need to leave for church...

August 7th Day 217

Stephan helped the kids build this car ramp in the backyard.  They literally played for hours out there creating all sorts of games.  I love seeing them using their imaginations like this...

August 6th Day 216

Kimball loves to cook and bake.  Today he made chocolate chip cookies, his assistant is the lovely Miss Norah,  they delivered some of the cookies to Bill and Bev across the street.  She kissed Kimball on the cheek and said "How sweet of you to think of me!  You don't mind if I kiss you do you!!"  He just smiled and shook his head.  Then she said "Come in come in....have a seat."  So all of us went in and had a visit with our new 78 year old neighbours, who, by the way, are some of the sweetest people I have ever met!

August 5th Day 215

You can never underestimate the power of grape koolaid play-doh...

 later on...

Kimball built a very detailed, very cool snowman...

August 4th Day214

Whoa~ we got so much done today, hung curtains, organized the scrapbook/office...I love having the kids home in the summer.  Today I taped 4 pieces of packing paper up on the wall (we have a lot from the move)  and said okay, let's pretend you get to make your own planet.  You've got to name it, and tell us all about it when you're done.  They have put so much detail into these murals!  I don't want to take them down!

August 3rd Day213

Today is Tuesday, doctor's appt.s and we finished reading Percy Jackson....and then rented the movie.  What a great book!!  The kids really enjoyed it...it makes me want to learn more about Greek mythology.
This is a photo I took of Sam on Sunday...he looked so handsome with his new haircut and all dressed up for church.  I actually got him to smile...a REAL smile, not his no teeth camera smile!  I love it! I love him!!  He does so many nice things around the house just to be helpful, just to surprise us.  He always holds the door for others, and would love to be the champion for more than one day at Stratego.

August 2nd Day212

We had a special dinner tonight... homemade potato soup and biscuits.  I got this new biscuit recipe and MAN OH MAN are they delicious!  I can safely say that this is one of our families favourite meals.  Yum!!

August 1 Day 211

Well, this is a photo of the house, all done!!  I absolutely LOVE this new color!  I must say I felt a sense of completion once I hung the wreath on the door.  It really feels like home now.

Juyly 31st Day 210

This is Stephan painting the upstairs shutters a dark brown!  Woohoo the blue is almost gone.  No offense to anyone who enjoys blue on their house...it's just not our personal preference.  SO....I soooo love this brown.  Oh, and don't worry about Norah, Anna is up there with her while I came to take this picture. She would say, "People, get out of the window, I want to look out of the window at my dad."  I looked at her and said,  "I'm not a people, I am your mother."
Oh, and by the way, what you do not see, is that 2 hours previous to this photo, a child whose name will not be mentioned was bringing the bucket of brown paint to a parent whose name will not be disclosed, and tripped with said bucket of paint and one litre spilled all over our  bedroom floor!!  Thanks to prayer and elbow grease (and 8 bottles of rubbing alcohol mixed with water, scraped out with a metal spoon and then a rug doctor, and 2 hours of labor intensive scrubbing...)  We got it all out!!!  Thank goodness, I did not want to put new carpet into a perfectly fine bedroom.  Whew!!

July 30 Day 209

This is a Upick we went to just 10 minutes from our house.  Wow!!  We picked raspberries and blueberries, fed goats, chased chickens, played on the sound garden, and played at the playground.  This will definitely be a family hot spot.

July 29th Day 208

This is the moment I have been waiting for ...to have beautiful Nova Scotia license plates.  If I was to rate all the license plates in Canada, this one by far is my fave!!
